Stephanie Sharp

You know how some people in the world are beautiful, some are compassionate, and some are talented?

Stephanie is all three.

Stephanie-8127-Web

Back in July, I had the distinct privilege of helping Stephanie create some images to be used as artwork for her upcoming debut album, Overcomers.

Stephanie truly has a gift for creating music.  The lyrics emerge from her heart of hearts, and she molds them with such powerful music – the result is nothing short of inspired.

Those who get to see Stephanie in action as the music director of the contemporary worship service at Cypress Creek Christian Church know that this album is long overdue!

I encourage you all to visit her just-launched website, Stephanie Sharp Songs, and learn more about her story and passions.

Word on the street is that the CD will be available on iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon by the end of the month!

Stephanie’s family owned a home on Crystal Beach that was completely devastated by Hurricane Ike last September.  We ventured out on a wind-whipped, overcast day and held our photo session among the vacant lots and random remaining debris.

Despite the destruction, many homes have since been repaired, rebuilt, and resurrected – Stephanie felt that this atmosphere was more than appropriate to represent the spirit of the Overcomers album.

As we walked along the coast, Stephanie found this tiny chunk of wood.

The seafoam green color was a telltale sign…this was a piece of her destroyed home.

Janica, I’ve looked at these beautiful pictures so many times that I can finally do so without tearing up, except today, while reading your beautiful prose, coming from YOUR beautiful heart.

Thank you so much for helping us bring this project forth, from imagination, to reality!

Janica, I know you sent me the proofs before, but there were so many they were a little overwhelming…seeing these gorgeous final proofs made me once again realize how very talented you are! You may be MY daughter, but I see you as a real artist, a wonderful Mother, a devoted wife and my very best friend. I love you! Steve, you grow more beautiful as your music and lyrics touch more and more people…you are truly a gift! I miss you…and Stone Soup!

And who can get enough pictures of new babies with new daddies?

(P.S. Check out David’s amazing eyelashes!)

The only time that Greyson gave so much as a squeak of displeasure was when I made him get out of his snuggly blanket and onto this fabulous chair.

Mom’s soft touch quickly soothed him, but he sent me a loud and clear message with a single, tiny, inch-long finger…  Heehee!

It was worth it though, no?:)

Greyson is new to the world, and he’s just fine with that.  This precious little man was so easy-going and alert!  He was wide awake for most of our session, and I could tell he just didn’t want to miss a thing.  Can you blame him?

Gabriella and David, thank you for inviting me to your gorgeous home and letting me share some of these special early moments with you.  I can tell how proud you are of your perfect new son…and rightfully so!

Please stay in touch – I’d love to watch this guy grow and grow.

Alyssa

This is my  friend, Alyssa.

She’s a photographer.:)

And she’s beautiful!

I was fortunate enough to cross paths with Alyssa at a Professional Photographers Guild of Houston meeting.  She’s an interior designer-turned pin up photographer with crazy-fun style.  As awesome girls do, we hit it off immediately!

Alyssa was in need of some quick head shots for her work with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo committee.  She was even willing to trek up to my neck of the ‘burbs, so how could I say no?

This girl does amazing things behind her camera, and apparently does just as well in front of mine.

You MUST check out her pinup work.  It is fun, flirty, and fabulous!

Mileslove Studio Eye Candy

Not gonna lie, I’d love for her to give me the full pinup treatment one of these days.

I’ll even trek down to her neck of the big city.;)

She is stunningly gorgeous!

Amy @ Muddy BootsNovember 9, 2009 - 12:00 pm

They’re lovely, Janica. The bottom left is my favorite.

But I have to ask… what do pin ups and livestock/rodeo have to do with each other?? I’m a little afraid to follow that path too far! *wink*

Off to check out her site. I can always do with a bit more eye candy.
