He May Wet the Bed, but at Least He's Clever.

I heard Parker wake up from his nap awhile ago.  Usually, I can expect him to immediately burst down stairs and begin his post-nap assault of demands and chatter, but today, I heard him shuffling around upstairs for a good 20 minutes.  Definitely not a good sign.

Just as I decided to investigate, he emerged at the top of the stairs.  His flushed face and wide eyes spoke volumes.  Oh, and the lack of pants and underwear.

“Mom.  Hey Mom.  Um…Mom?  I love you.  I think, um, I think..you know, kinda like, I was sleeping in the white bed, and my short pants got a tiny bit of wet, you know….  I took them off and put on the Diego underwear.”

“Parker, did you tee-tee in your bed?”

“No Mom.  No, I didn’t.”

“Well why were your pants wet?  Why did you take them off?”

“Mom, it’s OK.   It was just nap sweat.”

Seriously, I dare you to try and maintain Angry Mom face when your kid busts out with a gem like that.

Well, “nap sweat” could happen to anyone. I think you should just believe him…and send him off to Granbob’s house! He IS the most clever child that I have EVER known…even including his Mom who was pretty darn clever herself!
I love you!

Dude, you are SO lucky he still naps. I’d wash pee-soaked sheets every day if Matteo would nap!

Wedding Wine

Matt and I agree that the best gift that we got at our wedding was from our friends, Adam and Gaurav.  The clever boys gave us bottles of wine that corresponded with happy fun days in our lives together.  We have had Adam/Gaurav wine on our first anniversary, the birth of our first child, and now for our 5-year anniversary.  We still have a lovely bottle of red waiting for us when we reach 10 years.  (now if that’s not incentive to stay together, I don’t know what is!)

THANK YOU, Adam and Gaurav, for such a badass and fun gift.  We miss you both…come and see us!!  You can hang out with the kids and get to know them and Matt and I will go to a bar.  Please.  We need a break.

Oh my god that is soooo cute. You guys make for one hell of a beautiful family.

I would be delighted to come by and see you all when I’m next in Houston – or you can come stay with me in San Francisco!

Congrats on the 5 years. You guys are doing a great job. Keep it up!

That is such a *great* gift idea! I’m totally swiping it for some friends getting married soon.

well, for all of the many handreds of hours we spent coming up with that brilliant scheme we expect royalties… At the time they would have been referred to as no less than royalties TO THE MAX.
In other news I call bs on 5 years. Outside of pbo looking older than I act some percentage of the time. The Halpern-Steinermans were in town for the weekend and did a fairly good job of convincing me that since there are no mutual weddings in the future I should find some other excuse to drag my lazy ass to HTown before long. If I make it happen y’all will be first to know..

Congrats
