Kissing Cousins

…of the sweetest kind.

Parker ADORES his cousin Macaylie and they had so much fun hanging out together last week.

We still don’t have internet, cable, or phone around here…but I’ve somehow found a pocket of steal-able service for the moment.  Thank you, non-Comcast neighbor of mine!

I have lots of wild and crazy hurricane stories to share, but I honestly can’t bring myself to get into it all just yet.  I’ve been feeling so worn down.  I can’t imagine all of those who lost their homes completely or have had major damage.  I am trying to focus on how incredibly fortunate we have been.  The whole experience is just plain funky.  Yeah.  I’m in a funk.

But the kids are still cute, my husband is still lovely, and I truly can’t complain.

Such a sweet picture.

So glad to hear you are all doing okay even if not easily reachable. Keep updating wherever and whenever you can. (((hugs)))

Home, Sweet Home

Exhausted.

Thankful.

Brunette.

It has been quite the week (and a half?) and I am overwhelmed with the amount of junk that I have to deal with.  I am sooooo ready to re-discover “normal” life.

Updates soon.  Butt in the meantime…

Aw, cute little butts! Okay, now I am dying to see pics of your hair!

EllenSeptember 26, 2008 - 12:50 pm

Yeah, glad to see you back here, I was getting worried. I too want to see the hair!

Hurry up and WAIT.

Darn you, Ike.

We are headed to my mom’s house for the next couple of nights.  It looks like the city is anticipating some major power outages, if nothing else, so I’m packing up the kids and heading north!  Fingers crossed that the 30 mile voyage to Mom’s won’t take NINE hours like it did in 2005 for Hurricane Rita.  I can’t believe Matt has to work late tonight.  Seriously?  What about your helpless wife and children at the mercy of Mother Nature??

Oh, I kid.  He’s just a loyal, hard-workin’ dude and I admire him for it.  But really, Matt, COME HOME SOON and get your arse up to Conroe!  Pretty please.  :)

I hate all of the unnecessary panic and chaos, but I sure don’t want to be the lone dumbass stuck in an A/C-less house for days because I didn’t make a move at the right time.  So here we go.

Darn you, Ike.
