Aren’t they as cute as buttons???? I love the pigtails especially. My girls would never let me do that.

Rachael EarlSeptember 2, 2009 - 10:23 am

Gahhh! Can I steal them away from you for just a day or two?

Adam SquierSeptember 2, 2009 - 12:28 pm

I love the mis-matched shoes.

He’s got a bit of Punky Brewster in him. Courtesy of his mother. ;) (you should have SEEN me rock the turquoise and red Converse back in the day..)

GranbobSeptember 2, 2009 - 7:27 pm

Oh, he doesn’t hold a candle to you, babe! You had to have plaid and polka dots, mis-matched bows, etc. You were “Punky” to the max!!! It is hard for me to realize that my babies could be ready for school already! Unreal… Hope that Bailey will love it as Parker does eventually! I love you! Granbob

Super cute kids! Gorgeous light and gorgeous blue eyes!

Bailey on the Brain

Tomorrow is going to be a doozie.

It is the first day of preschool.  Now Parker is an old pro – this will be his fourth year at the same school and he is all a-wiggle with excitement.   Alas, my sweet Bailey is another story entirely.  Bailey, whose infamous antics at the  gym child watch have forced me to abandon all fitness efforts.  Bailey, whose dramatic sobs at the church nursery send me scurrying to her rescue immediately following the sermon.  She’s attached to me, folks, and a forced separation can get downright UGLY.

And regularly scheduled sessions of ugly will commence tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

Hang in there, baby girl.  You can DO this!

So in honor of the wee lass, I thought I’d take a moment to celebrate her finer points.  Such as…

Her undeniable fashion sense:

Her dainty,  subtle nature:

And, of course,  her downright cuteness:

A million peaceful wishes for you tomorrow, my perfect girl.  May the force be with you.

(and especially with your poor, unsuspecting teachers…man, are they in for it)

~

Well, her Granbob is always waiting in the wings if she needs me! I remember going with you to take Parker to his first day of school and you were so upset that he DIDN’T cry for you. Oh…when we get what we ask for….! I will be thinking about all three of you in the morning. I LOVE YOU ALL! GB

Texans Game: 2009

Parker Boles LOVES football.

He can describe every position, name every team in the NFL, rattle off player after player – who they play for, what their number is, what position they play.

It really is precious to see his eyes light up and his hands start frantically gesticulating as he launches into one of his enthusiastic football-centric monologues.  This spring, he even played on a flag football team and adored every moment.

It would only stand to reason that attending an NFL game would simply send him over the moon.

Wrong.

Wrong wrong WRONG.

If you would please take a moment and refresh yourself with last year’s Texans game adventure.  Well, almost a year has passed and we decided to give round 2 a shot tonight.  It is safe to say it was an EPIC FAILURE.  In fact, after almost two hours of travel time, traffic jams, and walking over a mile from the parking lot to our seats, we actually sat and watched the game for a grand total of 26 minutes.  Dang that celebratory “yay-the-Texans-scored” cannon!  We even talked about it many times the past couple weeks and Parker assured me that he was almost five, and certainly not afraid of the “booms” anymore.  But when the time came…and the big moment arrived…poor boy was a sobbing bundle of nerves, BEGGING to go home.  This time, there was no hope for distraction or convincing him otherwise.  What’s a mama to do?

Guess we’ll try again next year.

Oh wait, no.  No we won’t.  ;)

very cute… he is adorable.

Annie WarrenSeptember 1, 2009 - 8:50 pm

Oh… he is SO cute, and the image of you Jbo! He’s just like your ‘mini-me’… ha ha ha
What a shame about the ‘booms’. Can you take him to a slightly more sedate game? (without Canons).
