Once upon a time, …well, it was a very specific time, actually, so…ahem.

Once upon the fall of 1990, I had the great fortune to become best 5th grade buddies with the zany new kid in school, a gal named Juli Butler. Now, this wasn’t just any gal. Juli was the loud and proud wild child daughter of my social studies teacher, Mrs. Butler. And Mrs. Butler wasn’t just any teacher. This was the kind of teacher that let us write on her overhead projector and gave us special treat graham crackers and (joy of joys!) GUMBALLS that we could chew during class as long as we spit them out in the trash can that she held by the door as we exited her classroom. The best. My 10-year-old self was enchanted by Juli’s bold antics and unbridled sass. Sadly, devastatingly, Juli and I only shared one precious year as Beneke Bears together before she transferred to another district.

I’ve had over 20 Juli-less years since then…but by the power of the almighty Facebook, there has been a Juli/Janica reunion! There is something to be said about a person whose joyful, fun-loving spirit remains virtually unchanged after so many years. To know this girl is to adore her – just ask any one of her bazillion friends and loved ones. Juli, together with her strapping husband Anthony, have created an undeniably awesome family with their kiddos, Ella, Gibson, and the most recent addition, baby Coen. Courageous Coen has had a lot of struggles in his little man life, as he was diagnosed with Neonatal Diabetes Mellitus before he was born. He is a total champion, and is surrounded by incredible amounts of love and support.

I’m so lucky to know you, Juli. I am inspired by your selfless heart and delighted by your filterless humor. I insist that there be no more 20 year gaps in our friendship.

Once upon a time, Jennifer and Ben were engaged.

They became adoring parents when Luke was born. And now, baby brother Colin is here, and I love him.

The adorable Mary Jane.

This blue-eyed beauty is the daughter of my friend, Kelly, who owns and operates Geronimo Kennels. Kelly is doing an incredible job working with our puppy, Star, on some basic obedience. I don’t think sweet Mary Jane will need much obedience instruction. She is the most laid-back, peaceful, and pleasant 8 week old gal around. How fun it will be for her to grow up in a home full of love, laughter, barks, and tail wags.

(please note the eyelashes on this young lady. amazing!)

Oh, lovely little Lucy. I could just gaze at you all day…but no way could I keep my hands to myself. Youre just too darn squeezable!
Jennifer and Mark became the proud parents of this scrumptious baby girl on December 18th. I have a pretty good feeling that Lucy will grow up in a home full of love, laughter, deliciously prepared food, and a healthy dose of The Beatles.

The sweet life, indeed.

How sweet are these dreams?Green goodness.

Maddox is lucky enough to have an adoring big sister, Cameryn, and a best-buddy big brother, Derek.

Looks like he’s pretty pleased with the whole sibling situation.I can tell you from personal experience (and many Chick-fil-a excursions) that these kiddos are as just as precious as they are gorgeous.

Handsomeness wears a boy out!

My best friend’s baby.

There’s just something kind of special about that.

I finally, finally got to meet little miss Reese and she did not disappoint. I brought my kids and I brought Chick-Fil-A…the camera was really an afterthought. But too good I stuck it in my bag because baby, she’s a natural.

I love you Alicia, and I’m already crazy about sweet Reese, too. Can’t wait to see you all again.

Someone just made the Little family a little bigger.

Hello, sweet Oliver. I’m smiling because you’re here, too.Oliver was as peaceful and laid back as he could possibly be. Not even a whimper.

This face, I promise, was from the cutest little sneeze imaginable.What a face! ♥The second cutest little sneeze imaginable. Seriously.You did it once again, Megan the magnificent! Sam, honey, I was happy to see you again, too.

(I’m pretty sure Miss Stella was still grumpy with me for not bringing Bailey along…)This family is 100% lovable.
